Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 2025 solar grants:‍
  • Applicants must be private individuals (natural persons) utilizing the system for their residential properties.
  • The property must be primarily used for private residential purposes and the ARMS bill should be "residential"
  • Applicants must not have previously received grants or subsidies
  • Applicants must not have previously installed a photovoltaic installation on the same premises.
  • The applicant must provide a valid residential electricity bill issued in their name for the premises where the technology is to be installed.

How much will I really save on my electricity bills?
In Malta, most homeowners save between €900–€1,600 per year, depending on the size of the system and usage. If you include battery storage, many homes pay €0 in energy bills for most of the year. The system typically pays for itself within 3–5 years, especially with the grant.
Is the government grant still available, and how much will it cover?
The funds for the grant have been fully taken up this year but we expect them to be topped up again soon. The Maltese government grant offers:
  • Up to 95% funding on energy storage (batteries)
  • Up to 50% funding on the full solar panel system
Important: The grant has limited spots per year — once the 2025 quota is topped up again we expect that this will be taken up very quickly, so it’s important to reserve a place on the waiting list
What’s included in the system — and do I really need all the parts?
A typical solar system includes:
  • Solar panels
  • Inverter
  • Optional battery storage (highly recommended to reduce bills to nearly €0)
  • Mounting system + installation
You don’t need the battery, but if you want the biggest savings and up to 95% funding, it’s the smartest move.
How long does installation take, and will it damage my roof?
The full process usually takes 1–2 days of installation time. We use non-invasive mounting systems that won’t damage your roof — all work is done by certified professionals with years of experience in Malta. We also handle all paperwork for the grant, so you don’t have to stress.
What’s the lifespan of the system, and how much maintenance is needed?
Solar panels last 30 years or more. Inverters usually last 10–15 years, and batteries between 8–12 years.

Maintenance is minimal — most homeowners don’t need to do anything. We offer ongoing support if needed.
